Muggles Market Spotlight: 5 Pennies Place

Welcome to another Muggles Market Spotlight for 2018! Today, we are delighted to announce the return of 5 Pennies Place to our third annual Muggles Market at this year’s Geek Gala. Nichole Causby took a few minutes to answer some questions about her business and general geekery.

  • What items are you bringing to the Muggles Market this year?
This year, 5 Pennies Place has been making more Harry Potter items. They were a hit last year so we will bring more scarves, hats, and wreaths with that muggle feeling. We also have those more ghostly noisy wreaths for your ghost and ghouls! We have more wood & clay handmade jewelry to add also.

  • What was one of your favorite things from the Muggles Market or Geek Gala last year?
Last year I loved the snake and lizard. They were scary, but yet so sweeeet!

  • What is something on your ‘bucket list’ you would like to do or try?
Hmmm… something on my bucket list? Well, I don’t have one at the moment, but my mom does and I have helped her mark stuff off hers. One thing she wants to do is go in a hot air balloon, so I suppose I may have to join

  • Who is someone that has been inspirational for you or mentored you in your craft?
My mom is my inspiration. She is the master of yarn, and I would love to have her level of skill in a craft. She motivates me to keep learning.

  • So this year’s Geek Gala theme is “Gears and Ghouls”, and focuses on steampunk and day of the dead cosplay. If you could have one body part cybernetically enhanced or replaced, what would you choose, how would you want it changed, and why?
One body part that I would like enhanced would have to be my eyes. All the additions would be X-ray vision, burning ability, change eye color, etc.

  • And make plans to come visit them on Saturday, November 3 at this year’s Geek Gala
