Terms and Conditions
NOTE: This is a Juried event. The Geekery Market reserves the right to refuse sale of vending space if the organizer does not feel that it is in the best interest of the market or other participating sellers booked to do so or if the wares sold do not support the intended artisan atmosphere.
Acceptance is based upon submitted item description and resulting discussions. Seller must notify organizers in writing via email prior to changing or adding additional merchandise for sale as it may conflict with other accepted and juried sellers. It is the expectation of The Geekery Market that all sellers have the proper certifications, licenses and permissions for any items they sell at the event. If it is determined that any seller is in potential violation of copyright or fair use laws, The Geekery Market reserves the right to terminate any contracts or agreements and/or request the seller leave the event.
Once accepted, The Geekery Market will send an invoice via PayPal to the email address provided in the seller’s application. The Geekery Market cannot hold market spaces until at least a 50% deposit is paid on their invoice. This payment is due within 5 days of invoice receipt. Payment of the invoice is acceptance of the conditions as outlined below and on the invoice. The full balance must be paid within 30 days to hold a space. If the seller is unable to pay for their space within the timeframe outlined, they should reach out to the Geekery Market immediately to make additional payment arrangements. Failure to respond to the team in a timely manner may result in rescinding of their acceptance to The Geekery Market.
Cancellations:
NO REFUND after October 15, 2024. If The Geekery Market cancels, sellers receive a full refund. Sellers who cancel before September 30, 2024 receive a full refund less 15% handling fee. All cancellations requests must be received in writing via email to be eligible for a refund. Requests will be handled on a case by case basis.
The Legal Stuff
- [SELLER] hereby assumes entire responsibility and hereby agrees to protect, defend, indemnify and save the venue, its owners, its operator, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, officers, directors, and agents harmless against all claims, losses or damages to persons or property, governmental charges or fines and attorney’s fees arising out of or caused by its installation, removal, maintenance, occupancy or use of the exhibition premises or a part thereof, excluding any such liability caused by the sole gross negligence of the venue and its employees and agents.”
- The Geekery Market will provide some measure of security during market operating hours to deter shoplifting, or damage to property. [SELLER] is not to leave their vending space unattended, and should bring adequate staff to protect the security of their space.
- [SELLER] is responsible for collecting, reporting and paying NC sales tax and any other applicable taxes or fees as required by local, state or federal agencies. The Geekery Market will not be responsible for the collection of these taxes or fees nor will be held liable if any State of NC official comes to the event to collect the taxes on site.
